Fleetwood is ten minutes from our door. The borough grew up along the Reading Railroad and the old Fleetwood Metal Body plant that built Cadillac bodies, and that history shows in the housing: brick half-doubles and narrow twins on Main Street and the side streets off Richmond Street, with newer single-family developments spreading into Richmond and Ruscombmanor townships. Tight stairwells inside, limited parking outside, and a lot of long-time residents finally selling the family house. That last part is the Fleetwood job we are built for: a half-double holding forty years of furniture that has to come down a steep stair and into a rental truck parked half a block away, or a clear-out before the listing photos. In the township developments it runs the other direction, a POD in the driveway and an empty basement waiting to be filled. We bring the backs and the dollies; you book the truck or container and your carrier moves it. Straight out Route 73 from Blandon, Fleetwood is one of the shortest runs we make. - We are emptying the family half-double on Main Street before listing it. Can you carry out what goes and stage the rest?
- Yes. That is clear-out and curbside staging labor. We carry what is leaving to the curb, the dumpster or your truck, and stage what stays in whichever rooms you want cleared for photos. You arrange the disposal; we do the carrying.
- Our new place in Richmond Township has a walkout basement around back. Can you unload the rental truck through it?
- Yes, if the truck can get around back or the yard is firm enough to carry across. The heavy basement pieces, the gym gear and the freezer go in through the walkout and everything else goes in the front door, so nothing takes an interior stair that does not have to.
- Our Fleetwood half-double has a steep basement stair and a washer that needs to come up. Is that a job for you without a truck?
- A washer coming up from the cellar counts as an in-home move, so no truck is needed. Measure the stair width, tell us where it has to go, and we say up front whether it is a job we can take. Have it drained and unhooked before we arrive.
