Moving day preparation

A preparation checklist for moving labor

Prepare your item list, building access, packing, and questions before requesting moving labor in Reading and Berks County.

Make one plan everyone can refer to

Moving-day preparation begins with clear information. Keep your requested date, property details, task list, and unresolved questions together. This checklist helps you prepare a labor request and a later confirmed plan; checking a box does not mean a service or date has been accepted.

TitanForce Movers reviews labor-only packing, loading, unloading, unpacking, and moving-help requests from its Reading base. Transportation remains separate: TitanForce does not provide or arrange it. Independently arrange and control your rental vehicle, or contract and pay an authorized carrier directly.

Before you request help: describe the property

Access can change what a job involves. Walk through the route from the agreed loading area to each relevant room and note restrictions without attempting to move anything yourself. Check building requirements with the person authorized to confirm them.

  • List floors, stairs, elevator access, and the approximate walk between vehicle and entry.
  • Ask the building about reservations, permitted work hours, and loading-area rules.
  • Identify how the property will be opened and who can answer arrival questions.
  • Describe fragile, bulky, or unusually heavy items for review before the day.

Before the day: separate ready work from open work

Mark each task as ready, still in progress, or awaiting confirmation. If packing is part of the requested labor, say so. If you are packing beforehand, describe what will remain unpacked. Do not assume materials, equipment, disassembly, or specialist handling are included without written confirmation.

For a hypothetical apartment move, most boxes might be ready while a desk and several framed pieces remain unresolved. Naming those exceptions gives the reviewer something specific to discuss. Saying only that everything is ready would hide the work still needed.

  • Label packed boxes by destination room and flag fragile contents clearly.
  • Keep essential documents, medication, keys, and personal valuables under your control.
  • Confirm who supplies any agreed packing materials or equipment.
  • Update your contact if the item list, access, or requested timing changes.

At arrival: review the agreed work together

Have the written labor plan and your remaining questions available. Point out access restrictions, items requiring special review, and which rooms or items are outside the agreed scope. Keep children and pets away from the working area and keep ordinary walkways clear where you can do so safely.

If conditions differ from the plan, pause and discuss the change with the responsible contact before extra work begins. A newly discovered staircase, an unavailable elevator, or additional items should become an explicit conversation about scope and timing.

Finish with a clear handoff

Before the agreed labor ends, review completed tasks and note anything unresolved. Keep questions about work performed, outstanding items, and any proposed changes together. Use the agreed process for confirming hours, charges, and next steps. A clear record helps everyone understand the outcome without relying on memory.

Put your plan into a request

Share the date, location, labor tasks, and access details you know. A request starts a review; it does not reserve a crew or confirm a booking.

Discuss your labor needs
